The Session will be lead by Debate Mate Mentor, Ella. Ella is currently a rising senior at Yale University, double majoring in English Literature and Political Science. Prior to Yale, Ella studied at Bridge Academy, Hackney, and has been involved with Debate Mate since she was 12. Since leaving school, Ella has mentored for Debate Mate in South Korea, Rwanda, the USA, and the UK. She has enjoyed a great deal of debating success, including multiple wins of the Debate Mate Cup and Urban Debate League, as well as being the on the England World Schools Team 2016-2017 (top six debaters in the country).
Join us for an interactive Masterclass, featuring Yale student and World Champion Debate Mate Mentor, Ella. Ella will guide students through the power of debating and it’s importance on life beyond the classroom. Ella will share the top communication tips that she’s learnt from Debating and give students a sneak peek of the Speak Up Core Programme. The session will be interactive, with participants taking part in polls and students will be provided with the opportunity to ask questions.
